COAL

Colombia produces some of the world's best quality hard coal. We produce and supply several grades:

• thermal coal
• coking coal
• anthracite

Our coal mining operations are primarily located in the Boyaca valley, in the middle of Colombia.

The operations are all open-pit coal mining operations. Current coal production capacity is estimated at 20 million metric tons per year.

Our coal is an unwashed product coming from a blend of seams. Most of our coal is used in electric power generation, while some is used in pulverized coal injection (PCI), industry and home heating. Our coal exhibits excellent performance in various combustion processes.
